Cedar Shake Roofing in Suwanee
A cedar roof assessed piece by piece, with repair and replacement priced against each other before you decide.
Repair or Replace? Count First.
Cedar roofs are worth saving when the damage is limited and worth replacing when it is not. The only way to know which is to count. Our cedar inspections note split, cupped, curled and missing shakes, moss and soft areas, worn flashing in valleys and along walls and slopes that stay damp in shade. We estimate the share of the roof that needs attention and price a repair against a full replacement. Sometimes replacing a few dozen shakes and renewing the flashing buys years. Sometimes the wood is soft across whole slopes and repairs would just keep coming. You see both numbers. When we install or replace cedar, the details matter because wood moves. Each shake gets a small gap so it can swell when wet. Interlayment that breathes sits beneath the courses. A ridge vent keeps air moving so wet wood can give up its moisture. Valley and wall metal is replaced. And because cedar roofs drop small pieces of wood and debris over time, the gutters below get checked and cleared so drainage stays open.
